Job Summary
The Garment Quality Control Inspector is part of the Production team and serves as the final checkpoint in the garment production process. This role requires hands-on experience in fashion production or tailoring, ensuring every piece meets the brand’s standards in stitching, fit, finishing, and fabric quality before reaching customers or stockists.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Inspection
- Conduct thorough quality checks on garments at various stages of production.
- Assess stitching, finishing, color accuracy, sizing, and overall construction.
- Identify and flag defects such as uneven dye patterns, fabric damage, incorrect trims, poor workmanship, or missing labels.
2. Dye & Fabric Monitoring
- Monitor dyed fabrics to ensure alignment with approved color and pattern standards.
- Detect inconsistencies early and communicate promptly with the dye team for corrective action.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate quality control records, including defect logs and inspection reports.
- Track recurring issues and document findings for continuous improvement.
- Provide regular reports to the Production Lead highlighting trends and potential bottlenecks.
4. Feedback & Issue Resolution
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to tailors, dyers, and production staff.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and recommend practical solutions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
5. Packaging & Final Checks
- Perform final inspections to ensure garments are properly pressed, labeled, and packaged in line with brand standards.
- Verify readiness of products for delivery or shipment.
6. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce recurring defects and improve production efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support production operations and overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in garment production, tailoring, or fashion manufacturing
- Experience working with ready-to-wear garments from cutting to finishing
- Strong understanding of:
- Stitching techniques
- Garment construction
- Fit and sizing
- Fabric behavior and finishing
