Accountant (Restaurant & Retail Operations)
We are looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong background in restaurant or grocery/retail operations to manage the company’s financial activities and support day-to-day operations.
The role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling daily sales, managing payroll, and conducting internal audits, while also working closely with operations to monitor inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and overall profitability.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with hands-on experience in POS reconciliation, stock control, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Reconcile daily sales from POS systems across cash, card, and transfer transactions
- Monitor revenue streams from restaurant and retail operations and ensure accuracy of records
- Conduct internal audits on cash handling, inventory, and operational processes
- Track and analyze inventory movement, cost of goods sold (COGS), wastage, and variances
- Support stock counts and ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting
- Prepare and process monthly payroll, including statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, etc.)
- Manage supplier invoices, payments, and account reconciliations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
- Work closely with operations teams to identify financial leakages, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years accounting experience in restaurant, supermarket, or retail environments
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, POS reconciliation, and cost control systems
- Experience handling high-volume, cash-driven business operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
Professional Certification
- ICAN (or in view) is a strong advantage
- Other relevant accounting certifications are a plus

This role requires hands-on experience in restaurant or retail accounting environments. Candidates without relevant industry experience may not be considered.
