Job Brief

We are seeking a reliable and organized Store Keeper to manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of inventory for our hospitality operations. The Store Keeper will ensure that all food, beverage, housekeeping, engineering, and operational supplies are accurately received, stored, and issued while maintaining proper stock records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and experienced in inventory control within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Ensure goods received meet the required quality, quantity, and specifications before acceptance.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated locations using proper storage practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of all store areas, including dry, chilled, and frozen storage.
  • Issue stock to departments based on approved requisition forms.
  • Update inventory records accurately for all stock received, issued, returned, or transferred.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify the Procurement Officer or management when items reach reorder levels.
  • Track expiry dates and implement the First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) inventory methods where applicable.
  • Minimize stock losses, wastage, spoilage, and pilferage through proper inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including Goods Received Notes (GRNs), stock cards, issue vouchers, and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team regarding deliveries, shortages, damaged goods, and supplier discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of food items in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Secure the store and ensure only authorized personnel have access.
  • Assist during internal and external inventory audits.
  • Prepare regular inventory and stock movement reports for management.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Store Keeper, Inventory Officer, or similar role in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality business.
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles and stock control procedures.
  • Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, and proper storage practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
  • Strong numerical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move stock when required.
